KENYA: MCSK Expected to Make Decision on Maurice Okoth Suspension
14 March 2016

A storm seems to be brewing over the not so paradise that is the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).
After last week’s suspension of MCSK CEO Maurice Okoth, reports now have it that the board members are ‘reading from different scripts’ which could cause even more worry for the trouble plagued organization.
It is expected that later today the board would issue an announcement on the CEO’s suspension and though it is not yet clear what they announcement will be, many artists will be hoping it will be a notice of the sacking off Maurice Okoth.
Last week the board’s announcement elaborated that Okoth had been suspended to pave way for investigations into the organization’s finances.
He was suspended alongside Management Accountant Lilian Thuo and Regional Manager Peter Inyenze.
MCSK Chairman Bernard Mukaisi, said the suspensions would pave way for investigations which would allow the reopening of the organization’s frozen accounts.
