KENYA: Project X Paranoia Continues as Police Shut Down Yet Another Party in Eldoret

Well it seems that one can’t simply hold an event in Kenya any more. And that’s all thanks to the Police and their ‘Project X’ paranoia.
On Saturday, police shut down yet another party, the Color Festival in Eldoret town over suspicion that it was the said ‘Project X’ in disguise.
The Color Festival which was said to have drawn over two thousand youth all the from Kisumu and Nairobi, was held at the Gulab Lochab Leisure Center.
The festivals Public Relations Officer, Juliana Wangare revealed to the press that they had informed the police of the event earlier and that they did not understand their change of heart.
She said that the event was simply meant to allow youth to have fun while playing with colors.
“It’s sad that people had bought tickets and we can only apologize to them, our event Color Festival is an international festival that originated from India and in Africa its only in Kenya and South Africa where people have fun playing with color,” she said.
True the Color Festival is an annual event held in different parts of the world and manages to draw many youth, so it's sad to see it cancelled at the end of the day.
