KENYA: Former Camp Mulla Members and New Group Cosmic Hommies Set to Perform at Americas Biggest Music Festival
8 March 2016

Well we were all saddened by the Camp Mulla breakup, seeing as they brought something new and fresh to Kenya’s Hiphop scene which had been seriously lagging behind and their absence over the years has surely been felt. But I think it’s probably safe to say by now that they are never getting back together.
However two former group members of Camp Mulla have yet again found themselves in another group that is making waves across the region with their style of music.
Taio a.k.a Thee MC Africa and Ms. Karun joined forces with Ms. Marushka and Joseph Kiwango to form alternative music band Cosmic Homies: O.N.E.
“We exist to expand the current perception of a musical ‘genre,’ the current perception of ‘life on Earth’ and of Consciousness itself,” goes the groups motto.
They describe their sound as ‘Electro-organic’ music and though they’re yet to receive a lot of airplay here in Kenya, they are still making big moves.
Cosmic Hommies are scheduled to perform at the SXSW (South by Southwest) which is one of the world’s biggest annual set of film, interactive media and music festivals/conferences in America.
They will be performing alongside a flurry of top African artists the likes of Petite Noir (South Africa), Davido (Nigeria), Fuse ODG (Ghana), Stoneboy (Ghana), Iyanya (Nigeria) and K.O (South Africa).
2016 SXSW Music Festival will be held March 15-20 in Austin, Texas.
