KENYA: Popular Gospel Artist and Pastor Grace Mulu Passes On

The Gospel fraternity was robbed of one of their own on February 27, when pastor and sister to Peace Mulu known for her song ‘Ombea Adui Yako’, passed on.

Grace who was a veteran in the Gospel industry succumbed to meningitis after being admitted to Modern Hospital in Komarock Estate.

“Grace had visited the hospital on Thursday, February 25 after suffering a severe headache that persisted for two weeks. I had advised her no to take over-the-counter drugs, and that she should be examined. Upon examination at a medical facility, she was told that she was suffering from meningitis. She was consequently admitted at Modern Hospital in Komarocks, Nairobi where she passed away on Saturday, February 27,” said Faith Mulu, Grace Mulu’s younger sister.

“Family and friends are meeting every evening at Garden Square in Nairobi from 5:30 pm to 6 pm for funeral arrangements,” added Faith.

Grace passed on at the age of 43 and will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 12 at Gai village in Mwingi North, Kitui County.

She will be remembered for songs like ‘Unikumbuke’, ‘Tumekuja Kukuabudu’ and ‘Nginyilite Ukangani’ among others. Grace was also a pastor at Faith in Word Ministries in Ngong.
