UGANDA: Undercover Brothers land regular gig at Istanbul Restaurant
1 March 2016
The Undercover Brothers will cease to fly beneath Kampala’s musical radar following a regular gig deal at Istanbul Restaurant on Social Security House, Jinja Road. The male duo comprising Jay K Mulungi and Timothy Kirya will now perform a mostly acoustic set every Thursday from 8pm. The eatery hopes to ride on the Tusker Project Fame alumni’s music talent to promote its pizza with a "Buy one, get one free" promo. Undercover Brothers are currently benefiting from ample radio airplay of their breakout single “Nsikatira” which narrates the stuttering discomfort that comes with biting one’s tongue while trying to express amorous feelings for another. The lyrics allude to the effect that comes with trying to play a scratched CD. The long awaited music video to the hit single will be re-released soon after its rotation was withdrawn to fix its storyboard coherence. The Undercover Brothers rediscovered their music mojo after they were scouted to feature on the Pearl Rhythm Festival Stage Coach talent identification programme in 2014. They went on to headline the festival that year enough to enchant fans and critics with their syrupy songs. Download The Undercover Brothers’ music off www.mdundo.com
