NIGERIA: Banky W Comes Out to Defend EME Label Following Fraud Allegations
24 February 2016

Nigerian singer Banky W has come out to defend his EME Record Label, after some fake artist application forms allegedly from the label had been used to defraud some upcoming artists.
Banky first learned about the scam from some illegal applications forms emerged asking upcoming musicians to register that were making the rounds.
He therefore decided to go on social media to set the record straight and to save EME’s reputation from being ruined by the fraud.
“I’m only on Instagram & snapchat (BankyWellington), and Twitter (BankyW). Any Banky W communicating with you directly on Facebook or ANY other social media/networking/dating site is fake. Do not fall for it and for Goodness sake don’t send anyone any money
“The ONLY way to BOOK me OR any other EME Artist is to email Bookings@EMEonline.com or call +234 818 000 0000. Do not attempt to book via any other source, no matter what. If the price/discount looks too good to be true, it probably is.
“To the people behind these numerous online scams/impersonations, duping innocent people of their hard earned money, pls immediately change your ways, or may you know no peace, and may the punishment you suffer in return make you curse the day you made the decision to do this.”

EME was the record label that launched pop star Wizkid’s amazing career and therefore many young, eager and inexperienced artists looking to follow in his footsteps may have fallen for the scam.
