KENYA: From Ariana Grande to Amber Rose, Here are 5 Celebrity Couples Who Met On Social Media #NeverMissAMoment

It’s officially Valentine’s Day and couples across the world are celebrating their love on this special day. And while to the lovers this day is a God-sent, to the singles it can be quite tormenting to watch everyone else in love while you are all by yourself.

Sometimes when you think of the most perfect couple we have little to compare with than the rich and famous couples like Jay Z and Beyoncé or Kanye and Kim. Thiers are like fairy tales that seem to never end and all we can do is look in awe and admiration.

But I’d like to think even the perfect fairy tale had a starting point. Jay Z and Kanye had to spend a few Valentines all by themselves too before they found their soul mates.

In today’s world ruled by technology the one place we go to look for love is on social media, just ask the infamous team mafisi if you don’t believe me.

So today we look at celebrity couples out there that were once just like us (team mafisi), looking for love in the one place you can find it this day and age, online.

Jai Brooks & Ariana Grande

First on the list is pop star Ariana Grande who while on her rise to fame found love in comedian Jai Brooks.

In July 2012, Jai and his twin brother, Luke, began a competition to see which one of the Brooks brothers could get Ari's attention. Not only did Jai tweet her, but he made a YouTube video explaining why they should date! #JaiVsLukeForAriana proceeded to trend on Twitter, and Ariana's mom, Joan, saw. So, as any good mother would do, she told Ari to respond. Thus, the beginning of Jariana. Their relationship lasted a good two years before Ariana met rapper Big Sean.

Big Sean & Naya Rivera

Speaking of Ariana’s ex Big Sean, he also at one point found love on social media, specifically Twitter where he met his ex-fiancée.

She said, "I had followed him and he sent me a little message, like, 'I'm a fan.' I tweeted that I followed him, I was trying to get his attention. We went to dinner and the rest is history."

Rita Ora & Calvin Harris

In their time Rita and Calvin not only made some good music together but manage to inspire jealousy with their puppy love.

But what many may not know is that supposedly, the two's first interaction was on Twitter. And it wasn't pretty! But then they met IRL, and clearly hit it off.

Sadly, though, they had a spat on Twitter after they split as well. Oh celebrities!

Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose

Now this is not as big a surprise as you may think, seeing as both Wiz and Amber are very active on social media especially Twitter.

And though there’s isn’t a fairy tale end, the two were pretty smitten for the time they were together. So much so that they got married and had a child together.

In fact theirs isn’t any typical love story. According to Amber, "Initially we met through twitter. He did an interview about me and the guy who interviewed him asked, 'If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?' He said 'Amber Rose.' And then I hit him [up] on Twitter, and I said, 'That's really cute' and we fell in love!"

Iggy Azalea & Nick Young

And now to the only couple that's still together!

Iggy met her NBA player boyfriend on Twitter as well. She said, "We tweeted a couple of times and then we met up. It's not desperate, it's about admiring."

Well to you lonely bachelors and bachelorettes out there, my message to you is that do not quit on love just yet, the beginning of your love story may just be around the corner and who knows maybe you could also meet your soul mate (or your next ex) on social media like these celebrities. Nothing wrong with that!
