Webi adresses the question of lacking a stand in his choice of music

For any gospel artist in the music industry be it locally or Internationally, you always come under a lot of scrutiny and public attention as people try make sure that you don’t preach water and drink wine and particularly so in the Kenyan music scene whereby gospel artists have been attacked for being in the industry just to make money and not to preach the gospel.

This evening during Mzazi Willy M Tuva’s radio show on citizen radio, Webi, who is an award winning gospel artist, was in for an interview and a question that was clearly addressed was the fact that he sings both gospel and R&B which some fans have termed as lacking a stand but as he explained he finds no wrong in it,

“According to me love comes from God and he is love so that’s why I sing gospel and RnB. I think for most people the problem comes in since the perception of love on movies and music videos has totally been misinterpreted but to me the love songs I sing I draw the inspiration from my wife.”

The mellow voiced artist who is a skilled instrumentalist and contains some powerful vocals has been in the music industry since 2003 when he released his first single ,outside my window cementing his place as an artist in the industry; going on to release several tracks afterwards in an effort to maintain an element of consistency that earned him his current awards.
