KENYA: Sauti Sol, Victoria Kimani, Avril and Gloria Muliro Among Artist to Bring Kenya Glory at the 2016 KORA Awards

Kenya’s Victoria Kimani and Avril are set to tough it out with Vanessa Mdee of Tanzania for the title of the Best Female Artist East Africa at the upcoming 2016 KORA Awards.
Other artists in the category include Knowless Butera of Rwanda, Juliana Kanyomozi and Irene Ntale of Uganda.
Meanwhile Kenyan group Sauti Sol and Nigeria’s Bracket are seen as the strongest contenders for Best African Group. Other nominees in the category include X Maleya from Cameroon, Too Fan of Sierra Leone and Bana C4 from DRC.
Kenyan-based Burundian Kidum is also nominated under the category of Best Male Spiritual and perhaps the biggest surprises of all, Kenyan gospel artist Gloria Muliro is nominated under the category of Best Female Spiritual.
One of the biggest disappointments of all however will be the fact that Sauti Sol’s ‘Live and Die in Afrika’ Album failed to make it to the nominees of Best Album.
