KENYA: Meet the Akurinu Band That Sings Like 'Sauti Sol', Akurinu de Band

Many of us know the Akurinu people for their traditional style of singing and dancing, mostly on the streets with their loud drums, and most people would say their singing is an acquired taste.

But more and more Akurinu singers have joined the mainstream music industry and disapproved many who looked down on them showing that there’s more to their style of singing than we know.

The latest to join the industry are ‘Akurinu de Band’ who have surprised many with their style of mixing both the traditional and contemporary singing into their music, and it surprisingly gels well together.

Their first song ‘Mukuri Nu?’ which translates to "Who Is The Saviour?” is their way of demystifying or rather correcting the wide misconception that they are called ‘Mukuri Nu’.

Produced by Majik Mike the track fuses an urban touch with an Akurinu Rhythm and the result is quite surprising. The video is produced by Shege Van Njuguna and Co-Directed with a video production label "Akurinu Pictures International-API"

All together the song is an amazing production and has also gotten praise from some big names from the gospel music industry like Size 8 and Mr. Seed.
