KENYA: Why Some Kenyans Are Not Happy With Morgan Heritage's Permanent Move to Kenya
18 January 2016

Morgan Heritage announced their permanent relocation to Kenya back in October 2015 and while this has excited a lot of reggae fans in the country, not all are happy of this move.
It is a common sight for local musicians to move to other countries in effort to grow their careers, but for foreign artists, especially successful ones such as Morgan Heritage to set up camp here is a show of just how wonderful Kenya is.
In October the group said that the felt more at home in Kenya than their own homeland. Gramps Morgan is quoted saying the food, culture and people in Kenya are no different from what they are used in Jamaica.
They’ve even bought land in Kenya recently saying they’d be going into farming in Kenya.

However now anti-ganja activists in Kenya have revealed they are not happy with their move.

And controversial Blogger Robert Alai is leading the charge in fighting the Reggae band. He calls the Jamaicans a broke ganja smoking gang who don’t want to go home.
“Morgan Heritage is the new Defao. Broke, ganja smoking gang which is not ready to go back home. Maybe ganja is so easy to find locally. Don't overstay your welcome,” he wrote.
However his sentiments backfired on him as Morgan Heritage’s fans and the politically correct in general reacted by bashing him for his discriminatory and xenophobic utterances.
