WATCH: Kanye West Auditions For the Final Season of American Idol

American Idol is one of the longest running musical talents search competition and some of the biggest names in music today passed through it while they were still nobodies. But what happens when a star who’s already made it in the industry, decides to show up for the auditions like any other ordinary contestant?
Kanye West is one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry; I mean the guy even compares himself to Michael Jackson and for good reason too. But on the day, he put all his music accolades and ego aside and decided to audition for the final season of American Idol just like any other struggling street musician would.
The judges didn’t see it coming but decide to go with it. Judge Keith Urban did it like he would with any other contestant, asked his name and where he was from and what he does (can you believe that? Asking Kanye what he does?).
Finally the time came for his performance and Kanye chose to audition with the song ‘Gold Digger’, a fitting choice seeing as he names one of the judges, Jenifer Lopez, in the song and he won a golden ticket straight to Hollywood. Though I’m sure most of us would have wished he went through all the struggles like most contestants do.

Later the judges all spoke to the press where they expressed their complete surprise when Kanye showed up.
