KENYA: #TBT The Famous Song The Late Nairobi Mayor Dick Wathika Did in 2012

Just over a week since his passing and his memory is still fresh in the hearts of those he touched during his lifetime.

The late former Mayor of Nairobi, Dick Wathika was not your ordinary Kenyan politician. Indeed he was a true leader who dedicated himself to help the youth in the society attain their dreams and most of all encouraged them to work and not lazy around like most of them tend to do nowadays.

In his home town of Mukurweini, the former mayor set up a music studio costing a whopping Sh 2 million to help develop talent in the area.

Hon. Wathika himself even recorded a song in Kikuyu titled ‘Wira ni Wira’ (Work is work). The song was produced by the legendary Clemo of Calif Records and the former mayor chose to go with the stage name J.D. wa Shiku.
