10 September 2015
Artists from all around Africa have come together to do what possibly is the biggest collabo of all time, 'Tell Everybody', courtesy of The United Nations!
Produced by award winning producers Coghams Asuquo (Nigeria), David ‘King David’ Muthami (Kenya) and Ellputo (Mozambique), the track features Mafikizolo (South Africa), Becca (Ghana), Diamond (Tanzania), Sauti Sol (Kenya), Toofan (Togo), Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and Wizkid (Nigeria). The track is a call to remind everyone of their rights that are encompassed in the 17 goals and to ensure that the world leaders who sign the agreement, remain true to their word.
To keep inline with the theme of uplifting uplifting and capturing the voice of the African youth, the songwriters decided to crowd source two verses, one verse in English and another verse in French via a Every1Mobile competition. During the two weeks that the competition ran, over 3000 people entered from 25 African countries. Cobhams Asuquo said, “We decided to let the young voices of Africa be heard in this song. Not only did we love the winning verses but all the entries informed the vision, lyrics and sound of the song.”
