Self proclaimed rap King Khaligraph Jones recently released his new jam, ‘I Am King’ alongside DJ Crème de la crème and the result was a seismic shock wave in the music world!

So let us dive into the song and see what makes Khaligraph Jones that sui generic element of rap the hip hop nation has long waited for. For starters, the change of flow, rap and language on this track goes beyond any words I can possibly mold to try describe it. It’s phenomenal!

Straight from Swahili, into English then into some patois and then some humor injected local accents, you’d almost think this is a collaboration of something say 5 people: Papa is clearly a one man armada!

Then comes in the clever wordplay and flow that races the beat, slowing when necessary and picking up when the chase demands it. Of course this is made much easier by DJ Creme, who blends in Khaligraph’s rap with the beat making it sound as if Khaligraph had been practicing on the beat since birth!

As for the content, well, let’s just say he makes enough threats to have the terrorist militia near the Kenyan borders run to the nearest government authorities and willingly surrender. Say someone actually had the stones to reply to ‘I Am King’, then the rapper would have to invest a quite some time, guts, and then finally release the reply in sequels! Why? Khaligraph’s supersonic rap speed aside, he addresses almost every possible problem in the rap community and when he says “rest in peace competition” he acts like a loaded gun shooting at everyone.  

So, incase his eon long nemesis Octopizzo, the K South crew, gutsy rapper Kash, Bilari or any other esteemed cum able rappers in the game decided to reply to this, then forgive my French, but it would be different levels of f****d up!
