Guardian Angel, a celebrated Kenyan gospel artist is known for his uplifting melodies and inspiring lyrics. In a candid revelation, Guardian Angel has opened up about a dark chapter in his life, where he was mistreated in church due to his choice of love.

The ‘Yesu Si Mwizi’ hitmaker recently shared his poignant experience during the launch of his record label, '7 Heaven Music.' The incident he recounted had pushed him to the brink, causing him to question his place in the church and his faith.

"I went to a church to sing somewhere, and I was mistreated in that church. When I arrived, the pastor told me that elders had instructed that I should not sing or step on the altar. They all argued, and after 30 minutes, the pastor accepted that I sing. When I started, the pastor again got angry and wanted to snatch my microphone, but his wife called him down," Guardian Angel revealed.

His heartbreaking encounter didn't end there. After he had finished performing, the pastor took the microphone without acknowledging his performance, leaving Guardian Angel feeling hurt and rejected.

"That made me hate the church," he confessed.

The catalyst for this mistreatment was Guardian Angel's decision to marry Esther Musila, a woman older than him. The age gap led to unwarranted judgment and discrimination within the church community.

"I started questioning myself, wondering if marrying my wife made me undeserving of singing for God in church. I went home with my wife and told her that that was the last time I was stepping into a church. I said I would never step into any church. Matters of the church and me, it is done. I said I would be praying in my bedroom, but my wife continued going to her church," he revealed, reflecting on that tumultuous time.

The rejection he faced within the church was a devastating blow, leading him to swear off church attendance and seek a different path for his faith.

However, Guardian Angel's life took an unexpected turn when he crossed paths with Pastor Ababu, who would later become his spiritual father and guide. Ababu's unwavering support, despite the negative rumors surrounding Guardian Angel's marriage, became a turning point in his spiritual journey.

Guardian Angel recounted the fateful encounter: "I went to a birthday party, and that's where I met with Pastor Ababu…I had never seen a pastor who gets excited to see you, just like a fan does. He was so happy with me."

This encounter transformed Guardian Angel's perspective on the church. He realized that the pastor who had rejected him was struggling with his issues, and his animosity was driven by his challenges. This realization allowed him to let go of his anger and find his way back to the church.

"Later, Pastor Ababu called me at a time when no one believed in my marriage, including servants of God. He assured me that he would stand with me until I had a wedding with this woman, and everything would be okay. He took me to his church despite many people fighting him. Today, I'm standing here, back in church, singing for God because of Pastor Ababu, who stood by me. Thank you very much," Guardian Angel expressed with gratitude.

Guardian Angel's story is a testament to the power of faith, love, and understanding in overcoming adversity. It reminds us that even in the face of rejection, redemption is possible through the support and love of those who genuinely care for us. His journey from feeling unwelcome in the church to finding solace and support is a testament to the transformative nature of faith and the resilience of the human spirit.
