Joeboy, a celebrated Nigerian Afrobeats artists has spoken following the cancellation of his performance in Saint Lucia on Saturday.
The ‘Nobody’ crooner left his fans back in Nigeria and the Caribbean Island in utter shock after the concert organizers in Saint Lucia cancelled his show midway.
He took to his Instastories on Sunday and explained that his DJ used vulgar language which rubbed the organizers the wrong way and his performance was cancelled midway.
Joeboy, 25, said that neither he nor his group knew that such a law existed in this Caribbean nation.
“I couldn’t perform today due to issues from the organisers. I tried my best to give you the best performance today, but my set was cut off, and my DJ taken off stage,” his story read in part.
“My DJ was taken off stage because he said, ‘Make some f*cking noise’. We were not given any memo that we couldn’t use any curse word on stage,” he added.
So bad was it that the organizers of the event threatened to have them arrested and locked up if they kept up with their insistence to perform after this.
Left with no choice, they stepped off the stage in one of the most embarrassing moments of his career.
