MDUNDO MUSIC AWARDS: Tight Race As Only The Biggest Songs Make It Into The Hip Hop Nomination List!

I cannot help but get excited whenever good art is given the deserved recognition. Art being one’s perception of the world is one crucial element in human existence; it portrays emotion, understanding and the soul of the artist. And music being one of the biggest channels in art deserves a pyramid of its own, which the annual Mdundo Music Awards strive to build.
A few hours ago the nomination list of artists and singles up for the upcoming Mdundo Awards was released and from a single look of the list an adept hip hop listener can tell that the list is right on the bull’s eye!
The list consists of ten singles, eight individual artists and two collaborations. These singles happen to all be hits and the accompanying artist has been the talk of music world from both 2014 and 2015. So with this simple analysis, you would get a golden star for concluding that, ‘if you didn’t hit, you missed’; missed to have your single on the most downloaded singles.

We see the likes of Number Nane prodigy Octopizzo with three singles on the list, his longtime adversary Khaligraph with two entries, and the magical trio The Kansoul also with two, as Mejja and Rabbit take their stands each with one.
This has to be the closest race in recent music history since all the artists above have proven themselves to be more than mere artists; they are record makers and record breakers! So deciding who will bag the award for the Hip Hop category is a task more futile than looking for needle in a haystack!
So here’s where I talk the talk of a good sportsman and say, ‘May the best man win’ as we wait for the downloads to tell!
