Renowned Kenyan musician Benson Mutua Muia, popularly known as Bensoul, has hinted at leaving the Sol Generation record label at the end of his contract. Speaking during a recent interview, the 'Forget You' hitmaker explained that it is up to the artist to decide whether to renew his contract with a record label or to move on as an independent musician.

Bensoul pointed out that Sol Generation is the most beautiful environment for upcoming artists to explore their talent, and he consequently felt the need to create more space at the label for other upcoming musicians. He said that his departure from the label will create room for promising talents to rise to stardom just like him.

"When the contract says that you have to work together for a certain period of time when that period elapses, then it means the contract has ended. So, it is up to me to decide whether I want to renew the contract or if I want to continue in a certain way. And for me, I feel Sol Generation is the most beautiful place for any artist in the world, so I want to create space for any upcoming artist who is ready and confident in himself," Bensoul stated.

Bensoul released his first single 'Lucy' under Sol Generation approximately four years ago. Ever since then, he has been on an upward trajectory with numerous hit songs that have established him as one of the best artists not just in Kenya but across Africa.
