Who is Hakimi?

Achraf Hakimi Mouh is a Moroccan professional football player who currently plays as a right-back for the Paris Saint-Germain football club in the French Ligue 1. He was born on November 4, 1998, in Madrid, Spain, to a Moroccan couple; Mr Hasan Hakimi and Mrs Saida Mouh.

Hakimi began his football career at a young age and joined the Real Madrid youth academy when he was just eight years old. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his professional debut for Real Madrid in October 2017 in a Copa del Rey match against Fuenlabrada. He became a regular member of the Real Madrid first team and won two UEFA Champions League titles and one La Liga title during his time with the club.

In July 2018, Hakimi signed a two-year loan deal with Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. He became an integral part of the Dortmund team and played in 73 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists. During his time at Dortmund, he won the DFB-Pokal in the 2020-21 season.

In July 2021, Hakimi signed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain for a reported fee of €60 million. He made his debut for the club on August 14, 2021, in a Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg, where he scored his first goal for the club. Since joining PSG, he has been a key player for the team and has formed a solid defensive partnership with fellow full-back Juan Bernat.

Hakimi also represents the Morocco national football team and has been a regular member of the team since 2016. He has played in several major tournaments, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Hakimi is known for his pace, dribbling ability, and attacking prowess, which makes him a potent threat on the right flank. He has been praised for his versatility, as he can also play as a left-back or a winger if needed. He is considered one of the most promising young talents in world football and has a bright future ahead of him.

The football star has decorated headlines on several occasions. In 2023, Hakimi was hit by a major scandal where he was charged and investigated for rape. Within the same year, his wife Hiba Abouk filed for a divorce on the basis of infidelity and reportedly demanded half of his property. In an interesting turn of events, it was discovered that the player is not worth a dime legally as he had registered the majority of his property and assets in his mother's name. This saw Hiba Abouk walk away from the marriage empty-handed.
