Manchester City on Wednesday shot to the top of the English Premier League (EPL) after a crucial 3-1 victory against Arsenal. Pep Guardiola's side secured the three points courtesy of Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and Erling Haaland in the 24th, 72nd, and 82nd minutes respectively. Arsenal's goal of consolation was scored by Bukayo Saka in the 42nd minute.

The match brought Manchester City's cumulative points to 51, which is a tie with Arsenal's. City, however, climbed to the first position as Arsenal dropped to the second because of the goal difference. Manchester City has now strategically placed itself in a position of winning the EPL for the third time consecutively. However, the fraud case against the team still leaves a lot of doubt on the City fans.

Arsenal, on the other hand, will fight to redeem itself and rekindle the hopes of winning the premier league. The last time that the gunners won the league was during the 2003-04 season while under the management of Arsene Wenger. The team has since then experienced a rough ride under different managers. Mikel Arteta, however, brought Arsenal close to winning the league after approximately two decades.

Will Arsenal redeem itself to reclaim the number one spot, or will Manchester City defend its dominance of the league to win the EPL?
