Ghanaian dancehall artist Samini is now an official member of the Music Legends Hall of Fame after his recent induction.

This followed his outstanding performance during the 10th annual African Legends event at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The singer received a citation in honour of his global musical influence over the past two decades. African music's living icons are honoured and celebrated at the premier pan-African concert known as the African Legends Night.

The Hall of Fame's mission is to honour and celebrate the contributions that legendary musicians have made over their long careers which Samini is part of having started his music journey in 2001.

His music is a melodic fusion of hip-hop, dance hall, reggae, and high life but it often comes out as a blended version of Jamaican dancehall. Samini refers to this fusion as the African dancehall genre.

A huge part of his journey started at Ashanti Recording label where he released his first single ‘Linda’ which went viral and made him popular. He has since put out seven studio albums in the course of his career all of which have done very well in the industry. His music journey has often been referred to by younger artists as a big inspiration.
