After many years of false dawns, could this be the year for Lionel Messi and Co?

Argentina has an insane amount of talent and quality across the pitch and they currently rank as the 3rd best team in the world. Not to mention, they went undefeated in their 17 qualifiers matches and drew 0-0 in their only match against arguably the hottest team in the world right now, Brazil. They also defeated Brazil in the Copa América final last summer. One of the grittiest and hardest teams to play in the world.

Mexico has already named their injured talisman, Raul Jimenez in their squad for the world cup. They have an ageing core of players they have so far struggled to replace with sufficient quality. They are winless in four matches against Canada and USA, the other top teams in the CONCACAF qualifiers leave many doubts in the Mexican camp.

On the other hand, Poland has too much talent up top in Lewandowski alone, not to mention Zielinski, Milik, and co. They have too much speed that Mexico can’t keep up with. Poland should claim second place easily, but keep in mind Mexico have moved on from the group stage in each of their last eight World Cup appearances.

Saudi Arabia simply doesn’t have the talent to compete with the others in their group, although a win against Mexico can’t be ruled out.
