Ayra Starr Shares The Story Behind Her Hit Single "Rush"

Mavin Records' chart-topping music star, Ayra Starr has spoken candidly about the mental state she was in when she composed her most recent hit tune, Rush.

The talented singer and songwriter discussed this in an interview with Cool FM, revealing that while she had been in a state of uncertainty, the song had served as a way for her to reassure herself. 

She says that the songwriting made her confident and the song is all about proving to herself that she can take ownership of her decisions. 

“When I made Rush, I was in a phase where I was unsure of myself. And I grew up, a confident person. I felt like everything was someone else’s idea, it wasn’t me, so I wanted to find myself, be in charge, take agency and that’s when I made Rush,” she recalls.

Her thrilling new single demonstrates an artist who isn't afraid to be an Afrobeats force. The song, which was produced by Andre Vibez, perfectly expresses Arya's current state as well as her reflections, thanksgiving, and feelings.

She had always imagined herself arriving here, but she had no idea that her dream would be realised in 2022.
