Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats songstress Wendy Shay will release her new EP ‘Enigma’ on October 21.

The Ghana pop diva has been promoting the extended play project on her social media for a while now. She shared the official cover art for the project a week ago and has since shared a couple of pictures of her donning the customized T-shirt for the project.

In a build-up to the EP, Wendy Shay recently released her hit single ‘Survivor’ which sums up memories of a broken soul at the time. The ‘Break My Waist’ singer told Glitch Africa that the song represents a broken heart and is personal for her.

She says being heartbroken is exclusive to certain people. It doesn’t matter your social class, profile or how famous you are, anyone can get heartbroken.

It is a dedication to all women out there who are in abusive relationships.

“I decided to empower women, especially those who are in abusive relationships,” she says. “So what gingered this song is when I heard the death of the late Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi. That was the only way I could dissipate my anger through music.”

Shay hopes that from ‘Survivor’, every woman and man can tap into that energy to dissipate every pinch of anger in them.

With this weight in just one song, her fans can expect fireworks in ‘Enigma’ which could carry more personal memories and struggles.
