Black Sherif Named Ghana Entertainment Awards USA Discovery of the Year

The 2022 iteration of the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA recognized Ghanaian musician Black Sherif as the recipient of the award for Discovery of the Year.

The singer who achieved success with the song 'Second Sermon' competed alongside Nanky, Tripcy, Jay Bhad, Talaat Yaaky, Kawabanga and Chief One.

After a hiatus of two years brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak, the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA returned for its 4th iteration.

The purpose of the initiative was to present and honour the successes of Ghanaian creatives and entertainers who have been outstanding in different crafts in and outside of Ghana.

The Ghana Entertainment Awards USA for this year took place at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City.

Black Sherif shot to fame thanks to the success of his song "First Sermon." After that, he followed it up with a remix that featured Burna Boy, who previously won a Grammy award.

Black Sherif is all praises for Nigerian celebrity artist Burna Boy saying he drives up music sales whenever he performs his songs (Black Sherif’s).

During an interview on Kastle FM's Entertainment Show, the multi-award-winning Ghanaian artist said the Nigerian singer is a powerful force in the music industry.

Black Sherif added that the Nigerian Afrobeats superstar has had a significant contribution in his career in as much as they are from different countries.

 

“Burna Boy’s impact is really big because he performs the song on his tour shows and if you’ve been monitoring my digital streams, you will understand what I’m saying.

“You see during his tours the graphics of my streams go up because different people come to my digital platforms so Burna Boy has been really supportive,” he stated.
