Tems Thanks Tiwa Savage, Simi, Waje, Others for Inspiring Her Music Career

Nigerian singer Tems has hailed a number of female artists who have inspired her up to this point in her career.

Back off winning the Best International Artiste and Best Collaboration award at the recently held BET Awards 2022, Tems took to Twitter Tuesday to thank the likes of Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi, Niniola, Asa and Omawui for inspiring her.  

“I’m taking today to appreciate alll the Sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it. @Asa_official, @Omawumi, @TiwaSavage, @yemialadee, @OfficialWaje, @SympLySimi and @OfficialNiniola,” she wrote. She further lauded her Ghanaian counterparts Gyakie, Amaerae and the budding Nigerian songstress Fave for giving their best to break even in the industry. 

“@amaarae, @Gyakie_ @ayrastarr @faveszn @TeniEntertainer When I see anyone of you gracing a stage, I feel like that’s me. We’re all winning and we’re about to move in like a Tsunami. So before it starts, know that Love lives on this side. As we show the world how it’s done.”

Tems made history at the BETs on Sunday by becoming the first Nigerian and African musician to win the Best International Act at the BET Awards.
