When Manchester City host Watford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, they will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points.

The Citizens are coming off a victory against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, while Watford lost 2-1 to Brentford in their most recent match on April 16.

Man City reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League table with a 3-0 win over Brighton and is now one point ahead of second-placed Liverpool. They will have the opportunity to go four points clear on Saturday, while Liverpool will not play until Sunday in the Merseyside derby against Everton.

Man City fell in the FA Cup semi-finals to Liverpool last weekend, so they are now focusing on the Premier League and Champions League as they prepare for Real Madrid's visit to the Etihad Stadium for the first leg of their European Cup semi-final next week.

The Citizens have been strong in front of their own fans in the league this season, with 38 points from 16 games, while Watford has been far better away from Vicarage Road this season, with 15 of their 22 points coming on the road.

Watford is far from being relegated, but there is no denying that something spectacular will have to happen in the last weeks of the season if they are to stay in the Premier League.

The Hornets are now 19th in the rankings, seven points behind 17th-placed Everton, who have a game in hand, but they have a few games coming up that they can win.

They've also lost each of their last 14 games against Man City in all competitions, including a 3-1 loss at Vicarage Road earlier this season, but they're undoubtedly capable of making the Premier League champions uncomfortable for 90 minutes.

Man City, on the other hand, cannot afford to lose points, and I fully expect the Citizens to secure all three points in a routine manner.
