Chelsea will host Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon in a West London derby as they look for their seventh consecutive win in all competitions.

Before the international break, the Blues advanced in the FA Cup with a 2-0 win against Middlesbrough, while the Bees most recently lost 2-1 to Leicester City.

The uncertainty surrounding Chelsea's future off the field appears to have energised Thomas Tuchel's squad, who have done a fantastic job of focusing on their on-field concerns as they continue to strive for victory on three fronts this season.

Tuchel may have his sights set on the first leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, but the Blues will not want to lose their grip on third place in the Premier League table, where the European champions are comfortably five points ahead of Arsenal in fourth.

Chelsea's six-game winning streak in all competitions is just what the doctor ordered before the brutal April calendar begins, and the Blues are also on a five-game winning streak in the Premier League, surrendering just one goal in the process.

Tuchel's side has also gone 17 games unbeaten at their West London home since that 1-0 loss to Manchester City back in September, and only Liverpool – with 7 – have conceded fewer top-flight goals on their own turf than Chelsea (10) this term, with the Blues seeking to make Brentford's short journey across the capital a miserable one.

Brentford was dealt a brutal reality check when they visited the King Power Stadium in March, after seemingly turning a corner with back-to-back wins against Norwich City and Burnley, as two magnificent Leicester goals condemned the Bees to another defeat.

After a storming start to the season, Thomas Frank's side is finding it more difficult to secure their place in the big time for the 2022-23 season than they had anticipated, but the 15th-placed Bees are still eight points clear of the relegation trapdoor, despite the fact that 18th-placed Watford does have a game in hand.

Brentford's failure to maintain a clean sheet in their previous 12 Premier League away games is cause for concern ahead of a visit to the Champions League holders, and it would be surprising if their tally of one win from their last 11 top-flight away games improves this weekend in London.

Furthermore, Chelsea has already beaten Brentford in the EFL Cup and the Premier League this season, maintaining two clean sheets and scoring three goals against their West London rivals.

Chelsea will almost certainly try to clinch third place as quickly as possible in order to focus on FA Cup and Champions League chances, so anticipate a ruthless performance from Tuchel's in-form team here. Brentford will benefit from Christian Eriksen's return and good international time, but Chelsea should have no trouble completing another straightforward victory.

A win for Chelsea and over 2.5 goals is tipped at 2.10.
