Serie A leaders AC Milan will travel to Sardinia on Saturday night to face Cagliari, hoping to extend their unbeaten run to ten games in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the hosts are just one point above the relegation zone and will be hoping to avoid a third straight league defeat.

Cagliari has suffered back-to-back defeats without scoring against Lazio and Spezia after accumulating nine points during a five-match unbeaten run.

Last Saturday, the Islanders suffered their 14th Serie A defeat of the season as Martin Erlic and Rey Manaj scored in the second half to give Spezia a 2-0 victory.

Cagliari's next match is against Milan, who they have only beaten once in their last 36 league matches, a 2-1 victory in May 2017.

The Islanders have also only won one of their previous nine Serie A games at home, so they'll have to be on top of their game this weekend if they want to cause an upset.

AC Milan has grabbed back-to-back 1-0 league triumphs over Napoli and Empoli after a run of three consecutive draws, including a goalless stalemate against rivals Inter Milan in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

In last weekend's win over Empoli, the Rossoneri relied on an unlikely source to score the game's only goal, with centre-back Pierre Kalulu curling a stunning left-footed drive from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner in the 19th minute, his second senior goal.

Milan will be confident of success against Cagliari, who they are unbeaten against in each of their last nine meetings, including a comfortable 4-1 victory at San Siro earlier this season.

The Rossoneri have, however, won only three of their last seven games against teams positioned in the bottom half of the table, so they cannot take the Islanders lightly this weekend.

However, we at Mdundo.com cannot see the hosts getting the better of Milan, who should have enough quality in their side to secure a routine victory on Saturday.
