The month of March 2022 has seen the entry of new hit songs that took over the Kenyan music industry and not only gained the interest of fans , but also took top positions on YouTube. In this article, we review 5 songs that took the top spot on YouTube trends for music:
Mtasubiri - Diamond Platnumz ft Zuchu
Holding the first position on the trending songs in Kenya is 'Mtasubiri' by Diamond featuring Zuchu. 'Mtasubiri' is track number four on Diamond’s First of All (FOA) EP. 'Mtasuburi' is a love song in which Diamond and Zuchu express their affection for each other. The song comes at a time when the internet has been flooded with rumors of the two being in a relationship. Although Diamond came out to clarify that he is single, the song has fueled the allegations. The poetry displayed in the song has won over the hearts of many earning the song over 2 million views on YouTube. This is not the first time that Diamond has worked with Zuchu. The two have collaborated in the past on 'Cheche' and 'Litawachoma'.
Nawaza - Diamond Platnumz
Trending at number two on YouTube Kenya is ‘Nawaza' which is track number 8 from Diamond's recently released First of All (FOA) EP. The song is an expression of Diamond’s thoughts on various subjects. Among the topics that he has addressed in the song is his beef with Alikiba, the death of the late President John Magufuli, the reason he has not settled down in marriage among many others. Although the official video is not yet out, the lyric video has gained approximately 2 million views on YouTube.
Hiroshima - Khaligraph Jones X Dax
At number 3 is 'Hiroshima' by Khaligraph featuring Canadian rapper Dax. 'Hiroshima' is off Khaligraph's recently released album dubbed 'Invisible Currency'. The two rappers expressed their mastery of Hip Hop music. The song has attracted global attention with most fans of Hip Hop music coming out to express their love for the track. The video of 'Hiroshima' has surpassed half a million views in less than a week on YouTube.
Oka- Diamond Platnumz ft Mbosso
Diamond's FOA EP continues to dominate the list of trending songs in Kenya as track number nine dubbed 'Oka' in which he featured Mbosso holds fourth place. 'Oka' is a song that appreciates the beauty of a woman and her ability to make her partner happy. The song has earned close to a million views on YouTube.
Sugar - Jay Melody
Closing in at number five is Jay Melody's viral 'Sugar' song. With over one million views on YouTube, 'Sugar' has won over the hearts of many. From the composition of the song to the melodious delivery by Jay melody, everything about the song is adorable.
