Gengetone is a genre of music that evolved from the Kenyan Hip-hop music identified as Genge. The rise and growth of Gengetone brought with it stars who have completely redefined the Kenyan music industry. One such superstar is Kenya's celebrated youngest rapper Trio Mio. Who Is Trio Mio?

He was born TJ Mario Kasela in 2004 at Embakasi, Nairobi. Trio Mio grew up in Umoja where he also attended his primary school education. Trio is the last born in a family of four (two sisters and one brother). Trio Mio's mother Irma Sakwa is his manager. Music appears to run in the family as Trio Mio's elder brother is a rapper and their father too is a musician.

Trio Mio's Breakthrough and Biggest Show

Trio Mio revealed during a recent interview on Churchill Show that he discovered his talent in music while in class four. He kept perfecting his craft until he joined high school. His breakthrough came in 2020 after his song ‘Cheza Kama Wewe’ went viral making him an internet sensation. The remix of the song which featured Mejja, Exray, and Nelly The Goon made him even more popular. According to Trio Mio, Azimio La Umoja event which was hosted by ODM leader Raila Odinga was the biggest event that he has ever performed at in his career.

Is Trio Mio Still in School?

Trio Mio is reportedly in Form 2. Details of the school where the rapper was admitted remain private as he has never disclosed it. The ‘Steppa’ hit maker admitted that indeed it is challenging to balance between education and fame. He, nonetheless, puts music aside when in class.

Who is Trio Mio Dating?

The youngster revealed that he was dating during an interview on Radio Citizen. Although the identity of his girlfriend remains anonymous, Trio Mio noted that she makes him happy. Previously allegations had emerged on the internet that Trio might be dating popular artist Ssaru. He, however, dismissed the allegations citing that he adores her musically.

Is Trio Mio Related to E-sir?

The comparison between the late celebrated rapper E-sir and Trio Mio intensified after the brother of the late rapper commended Trio Mio for his success in the industry. Many stakeholders have admitted that indeed they see a shining star similar to that of E-sir in Trio Mio. The two are, however, not related.
