Flamboyant South African artist Cassper Nyovest has made it clear that all of his success is from music. The rapper responded to critics and others who found his recent display of wealth "distasteful".

Cassper is categorical that the fame he earned through music earned him a fortune that seemingly hurts some people so bad that they say his music is unpopular.

“Everything I am and everything I do starts with the music. The music got me here. The popularity of my music afforded me all these opportunities which I grabbed with both hands. Gone are the days where artists must be poor in order for them to be considered pure,” he tweeted.

Cassper has broadened his musical interests, and he is now considered more than a rapper. In addition to kicks and drinks, he has dabbled in celebrity boxing contests - which he has done more lately.

Recently, he got into a collaboration with Mzansi footwear business Drip Footwear and created two pairs of sneakers as a result of that collaboration. He also announced the launch of a new business enterprise.

Watching Cassper, you get the feeling that he has everything under control, he, however, nores that being an entrepreneur requires patience, which he finds difficult to maintain.

“Starting a business isn't easy, running it is even worse. Entrepreneurship is not for the impatient…” he said.
