While Nkayi has been on Idols for ten seasons, Randall's tenure on the panel spans 17 years.

Adonisi said that in order to keep viewers and remain competitive in the Sunday night time slot, the organization is taking a new approach to the judging panel. She said that Mzansi Magic would like to thank Randall and Unathi for their contributions to the discovery of new talent and the commencement of the careers of so many.

Mzansi Magic described these two judges as ‘terrific South African entertainers’. The M-Net boss said that Randall and Unathi created an impact on the South African entertainment industry that will be felt for years to come.
