South African artist S’Nova has promised his fans that he will continue to make songs in the Amapiano genre, despite the fact that he treated them to Afro-soul music.

S’Nova rebranded last year from Vusi Nova to S’Nova to get new beginnings in the Amapiano genre. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, he said he was happy to see that people were finally starting to like his new music after months of hostility on social media.

“It's great that people have eventually got the message that Vusi Nova is not going anywhere,” he said. He added, "I am also really excited that people have supported Shuku Shuku and the feedback from the fans has also been positive.”

He announced a competition for his Amapiano fans at the end of January. Despite the hardships musicians have suffered since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the singer stated he was looking forward to taking over in 2022 when lockdown COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed.

It was the third time that he changed his name since he started doing music in Mzansi. He first released music as Vusi Nongxa then changed to Vusi Nova, now as he ventures into Amapiano will be known as S’Nova.

He drew his ‘Nova’ name from Latin America to mean great. With the rebrand ‘S’Nova’ represents super greatness that he hopes to achieve by walking into the big boys Amapiano ring.
