South African artist Vusi Nova has changed his stage name to S’Nova as he enters the Amapiano stage with his new song ‘Shuku Shuku’.

This is the third time he is changing his name since he started doing music in Mzansi. He first released music as Vusi Nongxa then changed to Vusi Nova, now as he ventures into Amapiano, he will be known as S’Nova.

He drew his ‘Nova’ name from Latin America to mean great. With the rebrand ‘S’Nova’ , represents super greatness that he hopes to achieve by walking into the big boys Amapiano ring.

“S’Nova, pronounced ‘Snow-va is just a short, punchier, and more street-sounding version on my name. And that is who my alter ego really is; punchy and street,” Vusi tells Drum.”

What his fans are yet to understand is why he had his name changed for a third time yet nothing much about his vocals has changed.

One of his fans on Twitter opined that “Vusi Nova can sing on piano beats like abo Mkeyz & Njelic coz the types of vocals really are in the same spectrum. Vusi ebile he has more vocal capabilities. So I don't know why he'd change a whole look and name just to do amapiano. There's really no need.”

However, he insists that nothing much will change for him – he remains a Xhosa by all means and will spread his charm through music. He adds that he is fully booked for concerts over the Christmas Holidays.
