Azawi Features on BBC's DJ Edu Top 5 African Artists to Watch Out for in 2022

Ugandan artist Azawi has been listed among five top artists to watch out for in 2022 by popular BBC radio presenter, DJ Edu.
Azawi was listed alongside; Nigeria's Moelogo and Eugy, Ngobile from South Africa and Bruce Melodie from Rwanda.

"Uganda native Azawi is an Afrobeats singer-songwriter with a great ear for percussion, likely because she fell in love with music after frequenting dance festivals as a child, joining a dance troupe back in 2005.
"Initially starting her foray into the music industry proper as a songwriter for other artists, she’s recently stepped into her own, making music deeply inspired by her Ugandan background," DJ Edu wrote.

Azawi joined the industry in 2020 and has already achieved several milestones that include; featuring on Times Square in New York and being selected among artists who will represent the African continent on YouTube black voices music class of 2022.
Azawi’s highlight for 2021 was releasing her debut album dubbed ‘African Music’ which has done extremely well on streaming platforms. Some of the top songs in her album include; ‘Slow Dancing’, ‘My Year’, ‘Ache For You’ and ‘Party Mood’ among others.
Most music lovers have crowned the Swangz Avenue signee as the top Ugandan artist of 2021.
