Following her rant, a section of netizens claimed that she was angry because she missed out on the awards. However, in a Facebook Live video, the Source Management singer made it clear that she has made it this far without relying on awards.

"I've been here with or without the awards. Let me talk about stuff that needs to be talked about. Stop silencing me because I'm no coward.

"If you feel like Spice is not talented and doesn’t deserve any Ugandan award, please don't put me in your awards. And you won’t see me complain and begging to nominate me. If I deserve it I will get it and if I don’t deserve it, I won’t get it. My career, my future is not based on the awards,” she said.

Spice Diana claimed that the reason she hasn't won many local awards is because the organizers prefer to award their friends.

"I don't see a point in crying over awards. The biggest award is the fans and nothing is better than them supporting my music.  I'm Spice Diana and nothing will change. My fans love my music and I have had achievements which I'm proud of," she said.
