Nadia Nakai Launches New Label Dubbed Braaga Records

South African rapper Nadia Nakai is elated that she is starting her record label, Bragga Records.

The ‘More Drugs’ hit maker on Monday told her fans via Instagram that she is excited about this next step in her life.

“I’m so excited about the next chapter of my life! Here’s to officially starting my own record label bragga records,” she said.

She thanked fellow artist Cassper Nyovest and his record label Family Tree for holding her hand and investing in her through the years.

“I wouldn’t be able to do this without @casspernyovest and @familytreeworld thank you for all that you invested in me over the years! A Mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself and helps bring it out of you,” she added.

She first announced her exit from Family Tree in July 2021, saying that a time has come for her to stand on her own. Nakai populary known as ‘Braaga’ said it was not easy telling Cassper about it all but she eventually did.

In a past interview with Sowetan Live, Nakai says that it took Cassper some time to process he lost a great artist in Family tree, but later came to terms with it and suggested names for the record label.

“Later on he [Cassper] thought it out and he sent me a message and he was like… ‘Okay, what do you need me to do? I think this is what you should do’. He gave me some record label name ideas and I was like nooo, we went back and forth…” The ‘Siyathandana’ singer also advised Nakai on how best to run the label.
