B2C Weigh in on Why Ugandan Music is Yet to Go International

Ugandan music trio B2C Ent has weighed in on why the country’s music is yet to go international, arguing that it is all due to lack of adequate resources on the artist’s side.

According to B2C, for Ugandan music to go international, intentional marketing ought to be done. This they note is expensive and most Ugandan artists can’t afford it.

The trio further not that had the industry been paying well, then their fortunes would have been different.

"Because the industry hasn't paid us enough, we are too broke to afford those international collaborations. You won't be able to break through," Mr. Lee said during an interview with GalaxY FM.

Over the past few months, a section of artists have been complaining and accusing Ugandan of ignoring their own and supporting foreign artists. A recent case is when Bebe Cool appeared on NBS TV and criticized Ugandans for praising Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz.

At the same interview, Mr. Lee said Diamond Platnumz has mastered the art of extensive advertisement and has invested a lot in his music that is why he is getting global exposure

"Every time you do a business and advertise it very well, you expect to get returns at the end of the day. Diamond Platnumz advertises his music very well and he is everywhere. When you get to Tanzanian airport that is when you appreciate that he is truly loved going by the huge billboards,” Lee said.

"The problem is not the fans. They support him because it is his music they often see," Bobby Lash defended Ugandans.
