Will Zambians vote for hip hop star Slap Dee this time around in Diamond TV’s Personality of the Year Award? This is a question lingering in the minds of many following his recent showdown with bitter Zambians who vowed not to vote for him in the AFRIMMA awards.
The anger forced the ‘Mother Tongue’ hit maker to withdraw from the awards as Zambians roasted him for supporting PF party before the August General Election.

Heated online debate saw several quarters pledge to support South African rapper Cassper Nyovest in place of Slap Dee, ultimately forcing the Zambian to step off from the awards.
“I get it, I took my influence for granted and made a selfish decision. I let down the very people I should have fought for and stood by. For that I am HONESTLY SORRY. I write this not to win sympathy over the ongoing nomination but purely for a smooth and peaceful life with those I may have hurt. Indeed mistakes were made and lessons have been learnt.
“As a sign of remorse, I have asked management to withdraw my AFRIMMA nomination with immediate effect because what’s winning a trophy when you can’t win the hearts of your own people?” he said.
Now, Diamond TV has nominated him as Best Male Musician, a nomination which he is battling with the likes of Yo Maps, Chanda na Kay, Nez Long, Macky 2 and Roberto. Interestingly all these nominees are affiliated to Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP) except Roberto and Chanda na Kay.
They did a campaign song for PF party and attracted a lot of backlash. They have since apologized to their fans citing that it was just a business decision that did not go well with them.
