Jay Rox Hopeful of Winning a Grammy Award

Headphone Music CEO Jay Rox has his eyes fixed on winning the prestigious Grammy Award. For years now, the Zambian rapper has remained outspoken on his zeal to take this coveted award home.

He recently posted a dummy Grammy Award prize for the best Academy and captioned it: “One day! Speaking it into the universe right now. One day!”

This was not the first time the ‘Commotion’ hit maker was talking of a Grammy Award. He always says that his musical works are geared to towards achieving this goal.

Moments after he posted this, Zambia’s crème de la crème in the music industry encouraged him telling him that all dreams are valid.

“Amen! Amen! Amen G! You deserve this and many more,” Slap Dee told him. Jay Rox responded by saying that one of them has to get the award. “Slapdee Amen my brother. One of us has to get it brother.”

Mampi Queen Diva said: “And it will come.” T Bwoy added: “Amen bro one day.”

 The Grammy Awards has been won by African artists nine times since its first launch in 1959. The pioneer winners in the different categories include Ali Fake Toure who won the Grammy Award three times – 1995, 2006 and 2011.

Angelique Kidjo and Owour Arunga are also recipients of the award. Fast forward, Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Wizkid won at the Grammy Awards in 2021. The ‘On The Low’ hit maker won for his work on Twice as Tall – Best Global Music Album Category.

On his part, Wizkid won for his role in Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl.
