A warrant of arrest has been issued against South African musician Zahara over claims of unpaid tax from her enterprise – much of it being music-related.

According to Sunday World, she has fallen behind her payment forcing a Johannesburg court to issue a warrant of arrest against her.

Johannesburg commercial crimes court in the Palm Ridge magistrate's court issued the arrest warrant on Friday after the ‘Loliwe’ singer failed to appear in court.

She was sued for failing to file her personal tax returns. Phindi Mjonondwane, the NPA spokesperson said that the issue was put off to Wednesday.

Zahara is yet to issue a statement on these claims. Zahara has been at war with the taxman since the year started after SA Revenue Service went for her.

The agency is seeking taxes from the singer who through Zahara Trading (PTY) Ltd never filed income tax returns with the agency. In June this year, NPA warned her against skipping court hearings pending hearing and determination of the matter. As a result, she was asked to surrender her passport and report two days a week at Roodepoort Police Station.

Interestingly, her social media handles are awash with a new hairline Country Girl that she will be launching soon. All through, she has remained mum on the whole issue.
