2021 is almost coming to an end and it has been an eventful year in the Nigerian music industry.
As 2021 unfolded, Wizkid continued making a name for himself, and stamping his position as one of the biggest African acts, thanks to his 2020-released album, Made In Lagos.
Even though the album was released in 2020, the album took off proper this year topping several charts and accruing millions of streams across platforms.

In its 11th month of release, Wizkid's Made in Lagos album have already garnered 987 million streams, just 13 million streams shy of 1 billion streams. This is a rare feat only very established acts worldwide can achieve.
It is also worth mentioning that Wizkid's Essence was the most Shazamed song in the US a month ago.

From breaking Fela Kuti’s record of charting the longest period on Billboard World Albums chart to making it onto the Billboard Hot 100 and 200, this year has basically been Wizkid’s.
This has firmly put Wizkid and his album ‘Made In Lagos’ now being tipped to win the 64th Grammy Awards for the World Best Album category. Made in Lagos has also been voted as top contender for album of the year at the next Grammy Awards.
