THE WEEKLY WRAP UP: Hot, New and Fireworks!
23 January 2015

It's Friday, kick back and relax with me as we racap the week in music. Feel free to skip around, explore further, or linger on something of interest. As with all of our content, we invite you to jump into the conversation and comment at will on twitter here @mdundomusic
It has been a great week as we continue to slip smoothly into 2015. On Monday the fates of the music world changed when the longest serving chart toppers Sauti Sol were dislodged from the top position by P-Unit who claimed the spot of weekly most downloaded artists.
But Sautisol message was clear: “We are actually honored to have been given that title, since this shows that people appreciate what we have to offer. It’s been a real honor. And now seeing that someone else has taken the position only proves that there is more good music in Kenya and not just a monarchial industry.”
P-Unit’s Frasha’s decision to embark on a solo career also caught most people by surprise. The official 'I Am Frasha' launch is actually happening tonight at the Michael Joseph Centre.
New year releases are hot too!! Kenyan vocal goddess Avril released her much anticipated single ‘Hello Baby’ alongside Tanzania’s Ommy Dimpoz. Xtatic dropped a few bars off her upcoming mixtape Let Me Explain which caused humongous waves in the Hiphop world.
Ugandan rap god Navio, has just confirmed that the video to his latest single, ‘Kigozi’, off the Pride album, will be all for your viewing anytime from now! We are waiting too.
