‘African Queen’ album composer and South Africa’s pop star Makhadzi has had it rough with social media users body shaming her after an electrifying concert in Malawi last weekend.

Makhadzi was the subject of debate across social media streets for the better part of Monday before Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram went down for hours Monday evening.

This may have saved her from further bashing but, the damage had already been done. She, however, put a brave face and tackled those bashing her and blamed it all on her photographer who decided to promote his work using this very photo that sparked a body shaming spree.

The ‘Ghanama’ hit maker insists that while she feels sorry for it all, she cannot change her physique and she is proud of how she looks.

"I would like to apologise to all my fans if you are disappointed about my pictures. There were a lot of beautiful pictures that the cameraman was going to post, but he choose to post this to promote his brand but forgetting the damage he is doing to my soul,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I know I am strong and all this will pass. Unfortunately, I cannot change my inner part, I am like this and I am proud,” she said.

Makhadzi asked those who edited the photo with the intent to body shame her more to stop it because it is hurting her even more.

“I would like to ask everyone who reacted to the picture and edited pictures that you are planting something that can affect me badly. I humble myself politely and as everyone to stop humiliating me. I don't have the energy to block you I love you all,” she added.
