Ugandan dancehall singer Cindy Sanyu has hailed renowned musician Omulangira Ssuna (OS) for suing media personalities Kaiyz, Brian Wako and Williams Makko over alleged defamation and character assassination.

Over the weekend, the three were arrested for claims of slandering the artist's name during their Morning Express show on Sanyuka TV.

Cindy, the president of Uganda Musicians Association through her official social media pages hailed OS for the move, also noting that defamation and character assassination are serious crimes, therefore the law should take its course.

“Good morning world, I have got so much respect for this man OS Suna for having the balls to do what most artists are scared to do. Character assassination and defamation is a real crime and if dialog fails then the law should take over. Power to you man. Suna always you just made history and I am proud to know you, may God bless you,” Cindy shared on Instagram.

The journalists are currently being remanded at Kitalya Prison until 15th October, 2021 when their case will be heard.

Meanwhile, last month, OS broke down on live TV while responding to accusations by Kayz that his music career was dead, and that he relied on sugar mummies for survival.

He asked the media outlet to publicize any evidence they had to back their claims, adding that he was hurt and his reputation injured by the remarks.

As the case goes on, OS has demanded for a public apology, noting that it is the only way he can forgive them and withdraw the case.
