Zambia’s Vice President Congratulates Esther Chungu after New York Performance

Zambian Vice President Mutale Nalumango has congratulated gospel songbird Esther Chungu following her stellar performance at the Global Citizen Live Concert in New York last weekend.

Esther shared the stage with Coldplay in New York and performed her hit song ‘Jehovah’. She stole the moment as she let out her magical vocals in a set with Chris Martin as Coldplay did the instruments for her.

The presence of thousands of fans at the venue pushed her to put out her greatest performance in an event graced by Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran, Bullie Elish among other world stars.

Reacting to the performance, Vice President Nalumanago Chungu’s performance was an act that made Zambia deeply proud.

“This morning I wish to Congratulate this young woman for her wonderful representation at Global Citizen Live in New York City. 'Jehovah' was the right choice for you Esther, keep it up,” she wrote on Facebook.

Awe struck, the ‘Its coming’ hit maker thanked Nalumango for her kind words. “Our Vice President!!!! Thank you so much ma’am! This means so much. God bless you and I pray that we get to see more of our own on such platforms! Zambia, God loves you!!!”

Her husband Pompi, also a gospel artist praised her for showing the world how much she values the gospel.

“I am so proud of you for showing the world that being true to your identity in Jehovah opens doors to your destiny. You are valuable because you are a misfit and there is definitely a value for identifying yourself differently and being proud that you are different.”
