Celebrated Zambian gospel music star Esther Chubgu recently hit a new career milestone after performing at the New York Global Citizen Festival.

In front of 70,000 people, her mellow voice sang her heart out at the festival in New York. Her performance was like no other, finally putting Zambia’s fame in the global map.

And she couldn’t hold back her excitement over this milestone in her life.

“From the day I was born till today, I have seen how intentional God has been over my life.  I’m so humbled and honored to have been His vessel at the New York Global Citizen Festival and to proclaim His goodness to 70,000 people and millions of viewers around the World.

“Thank you to Chris Martin for inviting me, thank you to @coldplay for playing the song for me. Thank you to @jacobcollier and @weareking for singing with me,” she posted.

Her husband Pompi, another gospel artist lauded her for being a true believer and showing it in New York.

“I am so proud of you for showing the world that being true to your identity in Jehovah opens doors to your destiny. You are valuable because you are a misfit and there is definitely a value for identifying yourself differently and being proud that you are different. I love you fiercely my queen.@coldplay and @glblctzn we are so grateful for the opportunity,” he posted on Instagram.
