Lydia Jazmine Explains Why More Ugandan Artists are Landing Deals with Top Brands

Ugandan artist Lydia Jazmine recently joined the growing list of the local artists bagging endorsement deals from reputable brands all thanks to the lockdown and current ban of shows in Uganda.

Speaking during a recent interview with Galaxy FM, Lydia Jazmine explained why more brands and corporates are approaching artists to push their products, arguing that since most attention has shifted to social media, brands believe that using top artists is the best way to go in regards to influencing their products.

"We are very busy in the lockdown because I believe businesses have been down, they weren't working. I think they saw that artists influencing them is the way to go,” she said.

Lydia Jazmine further noted that prior to the lockdown, artists would approach corporates, but they were in most occasions turned down, but because of the pandemic and the new normal, corporates are keen to tap onto the huge following of artists online.

"We used to approach these companies before but they never bought the idea. I think this is just the time for them to see how useful we can be. They have to advertise through us," Lydia said.

Lydia Jazmine is currently working with top companies that include; Radiant, Big Win, Nuteez and  Banange Beer among others.
